We’re the organisers, local artists, fundraisers, and doers who keep the movement alive. From planning murals to rolling up our sleeves on painting days, the Crew is here to make sure creativity doesn’t just stay an idea — it happens on our streets.

Rory Wilmer

Founder of New Brighton Creative Futures, Rory has over two decades of experience in cultural strategy, creativity, and storytelling. He leads the organisation’s mission to protect and grow the mural trail while championing local heritage and community-led regeneration.

Phil Olsen

A New Brighton resident, Phil is a marketing professional and short story writer. He runs creative writing workshops on the University of Liverpool's Continuing Education programme, and locally with the Floral Civilians project. His writing focuses on place and voice, and often features seaside towns or characters who find themselves adrift.

Dennis is founder of Focal Studios and Focal Point, specialising in immersive and future-facing media. He brings expertise in innovation, digital storytelling, and creative technology to the board of New Brighton Creative Futures.

We work with local, national, and international artists whose creativity transforms New Brighton into a living gallery. Each mural carries their vision and style, adding new layers of story and pride to our town. Joe Forrest

A fine artist based in New Brighton, Joe Forrest brings over 20 years of experience crafting bespoke murals, portraits, signage, and large-scale wall art for both homes and businesses. His recent “Spirit of the Lake” mural celebrated the 90th birthday of New Brighton Marine Lake, drawing attention to the town’s coastal heritage.

Adam Bresnen

A local experimental artist from New Brighton, Adam Bresnen is responsible for standout murals including the ‘Peggy Gadsby’ diver and works on The Harbour pub. He also painted a vibrant BRUTE!-inspired tribute in the Victoria Quarter and is a member of the band Veyu.

Dotmasters

Leon Sessix, known as Dotmasters, is a pioneering UK street artist who emerged in the early 1990s and became a founding member of the prankster collective C6.org. His impeccably detailed stencils and photo-realistic half-tone street art, infused with dry British humour, have appeared at events like Banksy’s Cans Festival and in the Oscar-nominated film Exit Through the Gift Shop.

Mr Penfold

Tim Gresham, professionally known as Mr Penfold, operates out of Bristol and blends graffiti, screen printing, and abstract painting across immersive installations and murals. Drawing on early experience in screen printing and influences from skate culture and 1980s graphics, his bold, globally exhibited work reflects an explorative, graphical sensibility.

Ben Eine

A renowned London street artist, Ben Eine is celebrated for his bold, colorful typography and unique letterforms that transformed shop shutters and walls across East London. Widely exhibited and collectable, his text-driven pieces merge street culture with fine art and even featured in diplomatic gestures—one of his works was gifted by a UK Prime Minister to the US President.

Tom Blackford

London-born illustrator and muralist Tom Blackford, known as Inkfetish, fuses a lifelong love of animation and Japanese culture with graffiti and self-published comics. His vibrant characters populate walls across the UK and beyond, reflecting a gritty yet playful visual narrative rooted in comic art and street heritage.

Aidan Hughes

Born in Wallasey and formally trained by his landscape-artist father, Aidan Hughes—better known as BRUTE!—is a renowned graphic designer who created the noir-inspired pulp magazine BRUTE! and iconic album art for the industrial band KMFDM. His bold, high-contrast style owes as much to comic legends like Jack Kirby as to constructivist and futurist traditions.

Nomad Clan

Nomad Clan is the street art collective of AYLO and Cbloxx (Joy Gilleard and Hayley Garner), based in Manchester and Los Angeles. They’ve painted some of Europe’s largest murals—one reaching 46 meters tall—and their emotionally potent, finely crafted style has gained international acclaim.

INSA

A graduate of Goldsmiths in London, INSA began as a graffiti writer and rose to international acclaim for his signature “graffiti fetish” patterns. His innovative work spans public murals, gallery installations, and pioneering projects like GIF‑ITI, reflecting a bold critique of consumer culture and digital obsession.

NERONE

French street artist Nerone is known for his vibrant, dream-like murals that explode with colour, floral patterns, and surreal energy. His large-scale works have appeared worldwide—from London to Miami—and in New Brighton he transformed a gable end with his signature neon-flower style.

Aches

Hailing from Dublin, Aches is one of Ireland’s leading street and mural artists, combining his Visual Communications degree with a graffiti background. His work innovates through the interplay of subtractive (CMYK) and additive (RGB) colour theory, creating large-scale, dynamic murals that continue to redefine digital-age aesthetics.
