New Brighton In Bloom

SNIK x New Brighton – The Next Chapter
New Brighton already has a connection with SNIK.
Their mural Cold Tenderness, hidden behind Oakland Gallery, became a quiet landmark in the Victoria Quarter — a piece people actively seek out, photograph and return to. It marked the moment world-class stencil art arrived in New Brighton.
Now, SNIK are returning to create a brand-new mural — a major new commission for the OpenAir Gallery and one of the most ambitious artworks ever planned for the town.
This new piece will be a tribute to New Brighton in Bloom: a celebration of the volunteers whose planting, care and year-round graft bring colour, pride and character to the streets. Their work has transformed the feel of the town, and this mural is designed to honour that effort — a public thank-you made permanent in paint.
The wall we’ve secured gives SNIK the space to work exactly as they’re known for: hand-cut, multi-layer stencils built with meticulous detail; movement and atmosphere; and a depth that hits from a distance and rewards close-up viewing.
The mural will be created and unveiled in February 2026 — but to make it happen, we’re now building the community support that powers projects of this scale.
Over the coming months, we’ll share early previews, behind-the-scenes updates, and opportunities for residents, supporters and local businesses to help bring this new SNIK commission to life. We’re inviting the community to play a direct role in supporting this major artwork.
Donate any amount to help bring this landmark to New Brighton. Every contribution goes directly into the production of the artwork and the community engagement around it.
