Made in New Brighton, for New Brighton

New Brighton has everything a seaside town needs. The beach and the prom, the fair, the pubs and cafes, over forty murals, guest houses, and the shops on Seabank Road. What it hasn't had is one place that shows you all of it. So we made one, and it fits in your pocket.

These free apps are part of our placemaking work at New Brighton Creative Futures CIC, the community interest company behind the OpenAIR Gallery murals. Placemaking is about making a town easier to love. Easier to find your way round. Easier to stay a little longer. Easier to spend your money with the people who live and work here. When visitors can see the next train home, what's open right now and where to stay the night, they're more likely to stay longer, spend locally and come back.

No ads. Nobody pays to be on them. Every pub, cafe, attraction, guest house and shop is listed because it's here, not because it paid, and nobody can pay to be higher up. Every business can check, update or add its own listing for free, using the form on each app.

Each app opens in your phone's browser, so there's no app store, nothing to download and no sign-up. Save one to your home screen and it opens like any other app. Four are live now, and Shop is on the way.

Trains

Every train in and out of New Brighton, live.

The live departure board for New Brighton station, on your phone. It counts down to the next train to Liverpool, shows the platform, and tells you straight away if a train is running late or has been cancelled, and why.

Planned engineering works show up from the Monday before, and if you're changing at Hamilton Square, Birkenhead North or Lime Street, it shows your connection too. There's a map of the line, the fares, and the story of the station, open since 1888.

Run by Friends of New Brighton Station, a community group hosted by NBCF. Not an official Merseyrail service.

Enjoy

What's open in New Brighton, right now.

Every pub, bar, cafe, restaurant and takeaway in New Brighton on one page, from the Magazines to Marine Point and up Seabank Road. Open it at any time of day and it shows you what's open now and when each place closes.

Places that serve food show their food hygiene rating, straight from the Food Standards Agency, and you can filter for real ale, coffee, fish and chips, ice cream and more. There's the pub crawl, and the time of the last train home.

Run a pub, bar, cafe, restaurant or takeaway? Every listing has a link to update it, and the same form takes new places too. Fix your opening hours, tell us what you serve, or add your place if we've missed you. It's free, it comes straight to us, and we check every change before it goes on.

Everything to do by the sea.

From the fair and the arcades to the rock pools, the murals and the coast to Leasowe, everything to do in New Brighton is on one page, with the free ones marked. Filter for a rainy day, for kids or for days out with the dog.

Beach now gives you the tide times, the weather and wind, sunrise and sunset, whether the lifeguards are on, and when the next train leaves. You can see which ships are coming up the Mersey, learn to read the buoys, and follow the mural trail and the Mermaid Trail round town. Heads up warns you about road closures, races and rail works before you set off.

Run an attraction, club, class or group? There's a form on the board to update your listing or ask to be added. Opening times, prices, session days: tell us and we'll put it right. It's free, and nobody pays to appear.

Shop

Before you order it online, find it in town.

Every shop in New Brighton on one page, from the independents on Seabank Road to the bookshops, antiques, charity shops and markets. Hairdressers, barbers and other local services are in there too.

It's for anyone who'd rather spend their money with the people who live and work here.

Run a shop or a local service? When Shop opens, every listing will have a link to update it, and the same form will take new shops too: your opening hours, what you sell, or your shop if we've missed it. Free, like all the others. Want to be on it from day one? Email us now.

Stay

Don't go home yet. Stay the night.

Every hotel, guest house and B&B in New Brighton, plus pubs with rooms, apartments and places close by in Wallasey and Birkenhead. Each one shows how far it is from the station, on foot or by train. Coming in a motorhome? It shows where you can park overnight, where you can't, and the nearest campsite.

Wherever we can, we send you to book direct with the place itself, so more of what you pay stays in town.

Host an Airbnb or holiday let? Add it yourself.

New Brighton only has a handful of hotels and guest houses, so every room in town counts. If you let a room, a flat or a house on Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo or anywhere else, we want you on Stay.

We can't take listings from Airbnb or other booking sites, and we'd never put someone's home on the board without asking. So the only way your let appears is if you add it. It's one short form. We show the area and a link to your own listing, never your address, and guests still book with you the way they do now.

Run a hotel, guest house or B&B? Use the same form to check your details, add your direct booking link, or tell us if we've missed you. It's free, and nobody pays to appear.
